よく働き、よく生きる：理想の働き方を見直そう

皆さんはどれくらいの時間働いていますか？ 理想的な働き方は、仕事も人生も楽しめるようなバランスの取れた時間配分だと私は考えています。 これは、子どもの頃の「よく学び、よく遊ぶ」というスタンスに似ています。

最近、大企業のIT管理を担当しているある企業戦士とお会いする機会がありました。 彼はアメリカの大学を卒業し、元CIA関係者や教授とも繋がりがあるユニークなキャリアの持ち主です。 彼の視点は、日本の政治や経済を国内外から客観的に見られており、非常に広い視野を持っていました。 日本の官僚的な視点ではなく、異なる角度からの話を聞けたことは、私にとっても貴重な経験でした。

専門性と英語を掛け合わせた仕事が求められる

しかし残念なことに、彼は長時間残業に追われ、体調を崩し救急搬送される事態に陥ったといいます。 命には別状がなかったものの、仕事に対するアプローチが変わる必要性を感じざるを得ない状況でした。 さらに、彼は大企業に勤めながら英語を使っておらず、彼の持つ専門性と英語力が活かされていない点が非常にもったいないと感じました。

日本には彼のように、長時間労働に追われ、専門性やスキルを活かせずに働く「企業戦士」が多く存在します。 この状況は、バブル景気以前からほとんど変わっていないのが現実です。

🔤【English x Expertise Doubles Your Market Value!  Change the Way You Work and Get a　Fulfilling Life!”】

Work Hard, Live Well:  Let’s review your ideal way of working!

How many hours do you work?  I believe that the ideal way to work is to have a balanced allocation of time so that you can enjoy both work and life.  This is similar to the “learn well, play well” stance of childhood.

Recently, I had the opportunity to meet with a corporate warrior who is in charge of IT management for a large corporation.  He is a graduate of an American university and has a unique career with connections to former CIA personnel and professors.  His perspective was very broad, with an objective view of Japanese politics and economy from both domestic and international perspectives.  It was a valuable experience for me to hear him speak from a different angle, not from the Japanese bureaucratic perspective.

A combination of expertise and English is required for the job.

Unfortunately, he was working long overtime hours and became ill and had to be rushed to the emergency room.  Although his condition was not life-threatening, he felt the need to change his approach to work.  Furthermore, although he worked for a large company, he hasn’t used English, and I felt it was a shame that his expertise and English skills weren’t  being put to use.

In Japan, there are many “corporate warriors” like him who work long hours and are unable to utilize their expertise and skills.  The reality is that this situation has hardly changed since before the bubble economy.

Become a sought-after human resource in the age of AI:  English for the Golden Egg!

However, times are changing.  While the advent of AI is automating many jobs, your market value will increase dramatically if you combine your expertise with English.  With English as your weapon of choice, you will become the person of choice and be able to freely choose your career.

I sincerely hope that the way of working in Japan will change, that long hours of overtime will be eliminated with the support of AI, and that a society will come where each individual can make the most of his or her individuality and lead a more fulfilling life.  Let’s use English to expand your potential and get the right way of working for the future!
