先日、医療通訳士１級を目指す若い女性が相談に来られました。
彼女は地方から上京し、クリニックで働きながら勉強を続けています。将来は企業に縛られず、自分で会社を経営していきたいと語ってくれました。

質問事項をびっしりと紙に書き出し、真剣な眼差しで相談してくれる姿は、とても頼もしく、私自身が大きな刺激を受けました。
​
実は最近、このように「未来にワクワクしている」若者が次々と私のもとを訪れています。
そして驚くほど共通しているのは──彼ら全員が、何らかの海外経験を持っていることです。
留学、ワーキングホリデー、仕事、ボランティア…その経験を通して異文化に触れ、自分の視野や価値観を大きく広げてきたのです。

海外経験は単なる「語学の習得」だけにとどまりません。
新しい価値観との出会いは人生の選択肢を増やし、自信を持って自分らしい道を選ぶ力につながります。
​
私は心から思います。 もっと多くの日本人が、彼らのように海外に挑戦してほしいと。
​
現在、私は東京都主催の「外国人社員とのコミュニケーション力向上支援事業」の研修を担当しています。
​
グローバル時代に必要なのは、完璧な語学力ではありません。
大切なのは、違いを理解し、自信を持って英語を使い、堂々と世界の人たちとビジネスを進めていける力です。
​
今、日本にはこうしたマインドを持つ人材が必要です。
私も全力で、日本人のグローバル化に貢献していきたいと強く思っています。

🌍 Overseas Experience Transforms People — What Japan Needs Are “Challenging
​ ​ ​ Individuals”
​
The other day, a young woman aiming for a Level 1 Medical Interpreter certification came for consultation.
She moved to Tokyo from the countryside and continues her studies while working at a clinic. She shared her aspiration to run her own company in the future, free from corporate
constraints.
​
Seeing her long list of her questions on paper and consult with such earnest focus was incredibly reassuring — and deeply inspiring to me.
​
In fact, lately, young people like this — I’m excited about their futures — have been coming to see me one after another.
And what’s surprisingly common among them is this: every single one has had some kind of overseas experience.
Study abroad, working holidays, work, volunteering… Through these experiences, they’ve encountered different cultures, greatly broadening their horizons and values.
​
Overseas experience isn’t just about “learning a language.”
Encountering new values increases life choices and builds the confidence to choose your own path.
​
I truly believe more Japanese people should challenge themselves overseas like them.
​
Currently, I lead training for Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s “Communication Skills Improvement Support Program for Employees with Foreign Colleagues.”
​
What the global era demands isn’t perfect language skills.
What matters is the ability to understand differences, use English confidently, and conduct business with people worldwide with dignified.
​
Japan now needs people with this mindset.
I am strongly committed to contributing my utmost to the globalization of Japanese
professionals.
